A development application has been received by the City of South Perth from local developer Dragon Century Pty Ltd. The development application is for a 2,976 SQM site located at No. 3 Lyall street on the South Perth Peninsula. The mixed-use proposal has been designed by Hillam Architects and features 203 residential apartments, commercial space and parking in a 44 level tower.
Moving away from a traditional box shaped skyscraper, the proposed tower has a curvaceous and more sculptured form. The design features a striking curved façade with an external “exoskeleton” wrapping around the tower. It will create an iconic addition to the South Perth skyline.
The curved design maximises the views towards Kings Park, The Swan River, Perth City, Perth Zoo and Richardson Park whilst also minimising overshadowing on adjacent sites.
The ground floor levels have been designed to enhance street activation. The commercial mix will feature cafes, restaurants, day care centres, a community exhibition gallery, consulting rooms, educational establishments and office tenancies with an outdoor plaza and outdoor seating which will help create amenity.
