Construction underway on $1 billion Gold Coast Complex
The $1 billion Jewel Residences on the Gold Coast will be the first prime beach front development in a quarter of a century. Construction started in April this year on what will be a stunning three tower complex comprising of 500 apartments, 171 hotel rooms and a handful of luxury retail precincts. The buildings have been designed to look like precious jewels standing on the Gold Coast horizon and will house the first luxury Vista Hotel outside of China.
The development is a joint venture between two of China’s largest property and hospitality groups; the Wanda Group and the Ridong Group who both have substantial property and hotel portfolios around the globe.
The developers will spare no expense in crafting what will become an unrivalled experience, offering residents the unprecedented opportunity to live an extravagant life, while also being able to walk from their apartment directly onto the world’s most celebrated sands – the Surfers Paradise beachfront.
The design cues for the stunning development have taken inspiration from crystal shards discovered in the region that date back thousands of years and design teams from United States based Oppenheim Architecture and DBI Design have used this as motivation to generate a simple yet powerful, bold and iconic exterior.
The directors of sales from the Wanda group Andrew Bampton commented: “We’ve chosen right here on the Gold Coast’s iconic shoreline as one of the most lucrative hot spots for capital growth in the coming years, offering buyers unparalleled luxury, world-class design and unrivaled standards in beachfront living.”
